Career Biography

 

​Madeleine Ray is a permitting analyst at the AES Corporation. Previously, she was an environmental permitting specialist and the corporate sustainability manager at Apex Clean Energy. She has worked in the renewable energy industry since 2017. Prior to that, Madeleine worked for a civil engineering firm as an environmental scientist. In late 2018, she established the Charlottesville chapter of Women in Renewable Industries and Sustainable Energy (WRISE), which seeks to support women across all sectors of the renewable energy industry with professional development and networking opportunities. Madeleine, who grew up on a small farm outside of Cleveland, received her bachelor of science degree in environmental biology from Ohio University and her master’s degree in corporate sustainability from the University of York in England.
