Sun Tribe Solar to Provide 100% offset for Cople Elementary
Sun Tribe Solar and Westmorland Public Schools partnered to pair solar and conservation efforts. The solar array will produce around 1,162,644 kWh per year, offsetting their carbon footprint by 865 tons of CO2 and saving the school $3.6 million. It requires no upfront capital from Westmoreland, as Sun Tribe is funding it through a Power Purchase Agreement. To expand the ecological benefits of solar development, Sun Tribe is implementing a pollinator-friendly approach by planting wild flowers and other host plants around the panels, which offers conservational and economic benefits.
